Thanksgiving is coming. Our tables will be full, but many will not. The Dauntless community is gathering together to help those in need. We are excited to participate in the 1st Annual Grateful Deadlift Day, a multi-facility fundraiser for local charities.
The event is organized by Rebecca Fishburne, who, among lots of other cool things like raising animals with her kids for 4-H, competing in weightlifting competitions, writing a great blog, and being an all-around awesome woman – is a trainer here at Dauntless. Lucky us.
We have chosen to support SPAN and the Lighthouse Shelter of Annapolis. We will divide all funds we raise 50/50 between those two organizations.
We are rallying the Dauntless community – and anyone else who would like to participate – to reach two goals: 1. raise $1000 and, 2. cumulatively deadlift 100 tons.
Here’s how:
- If you’d like to make a monetary donation, THANK YOU! Head over to the DauntlessDeadlifts GoFundMe page – it’s quick and secure. Every donation is appreciated.
- If you’d like to contribute to our deadlift goal of 100 tons, GREAT! Wednesday, November 9 – Saturday, November 12 our Small Group classes will be focused on deadlifts. Everyone sets a personal goal. For example, you decide to do 10×10 with a 100# barbell. That’s 10,000 lbs (5 tons)! Barbell, dumbbells, or kettlebells; choose your equipment, set a goal, and do the reps! We’ll be keeping a running tally and won’t stop until we get to 100 tons!
Everyone who trains at Dauntless will have the opportunity to participate 11/9-11/12. If you’re not currently a client we welcome your participation anyway! Give us a call at 410-544-2067 and we’ll set you up to come in and lift!
We didn’t want to just lift heavy weight to get stronger, healthier, and happier. So for 4 days we will be pulling heavy weight to support the charities of our community who “lift heavy” for others 365 days a year. We hope you’ll join our effort. See you at the bar! (um, bar – bell)
