Massage and Bodywork

“To know a thing is to awaken to its depth, complexity and presence.”

 – John O’Donohue

Massage works beautifully for those who seek non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical approaches to managing their health and wellness. Massage activates your body’s natural healing systems, which seek restoration, balance and vitality.

Among the positive outcomes of massage:

  • Reduced pain
  • Reduced stress hormones
  • Enhanced sense of well-being and attentiveness
  • Improved immune function
  • Alleviation of depressive symptoms

I was trained in the art and science of therapeutic massage by dedicated instructors and practitioners at the Baltimore School of Massage. Since graduating in 2001 I’ve completed extensive continuing education and studied the work of leaders in the field of massage and bodywork.  This includes certifications in orthopedic massage, myofascial release, deep tissue, and sports massage.

I also have certifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Somatic Coaching. Simply put; our body is the sum total of our life.  I believe it’s essential to our health to understand how our body is a vessel for both our experiences and our current sense of the world around us. Because of this belief, I work with my clients to help them understand and integrate their life experience in such a way as to maintain balance and resilience, in mind and body.
